Is America Islamophobic !!??

The Time Cover this issue is controversial as usual.
Is America Islamophobic !!??

A good question to be asked now especially with the so-called ground zero mosque debate, a good question to be asked now especially with the United States senate elections are on the doors.
I believe now what is happening in the United States is a dirty game from the GOP to win more votes in the coming elections nothing more, nothing else ;what else will be better than using the old tricks used in the presidential elections from spreading rumors about Obama’s religious belief and use again 9/11 to play with the emotions of the masses .
By the way there is a new poll in the blog : Is America Islamophobic ??

  1. You mean emotions of the masses, my dear Z, not "messes". But the mistake is so funny I think you should leave it. It reminds me of an old joke where a courtier tells the king "the peasants are revolting" and the king says "I'll say". As long as you're doing polls, you might consider my crazy-pearl litmus test: Who did 9/11? (a) Al Qaida/Bin Laden (b) Israel/Mossad (c) Bush/CIA (d) Other/Don't know. I would like to see if your readers are less cuckoo than Egypt as a whole. I assume they are, even just your Egyptian readers, who are an educated elite. By the way, on another topic. Through email I have been giving Angry Israeli private lessons on using HTML tags in comments! You have already seen his excellent mastery of links. Soon he may demonstrate the use of bold and italic font!

  2. To Jason,
That king must have been an American :-)

While I agree that Zeinobia's English is not perfect, perhaps you would prefer to read her interesting posts in Arabic?

  3. @Jason,

A poll taken in 2006 by Scripps Howard and Ohio University (apparently) showed that, "More than a third of the American public suspects that federal officials assisted in the 9/11 terrorist attacks or took no action to stop them so the United States could go to war in the Middle East.

But since you seem to be Mr. Perfect then you know best….
You perhaps prefer to believe that Muslims with box cutters did it all!

  4. There are some who think that "there is no ground zero mosque" as Mr. Keith Olbermann argues in the following video:

Instead of playing GOD like the rest of you 'rightous' Americans, why don't you concentrate on fixing the sh#t that goes on in your own backyard.
Shall I list them for you?

  8. Love this 'hate america love in!' Lest you forget the local community board in lower manhattan voted 9 to ZERO in favor of the Mosque. Yes the right wing noise machine is cranking out acerbic and ignorant rhetoric, but it is dwarfed by the utter contempt and hatred the average secular european has for muslims!

Ask any Egyptian muslim or any muslim walking the streets of New York or Nashville for that matter and the will relay a similar sentiment!

  10. @Anon before last: I recommend you long on to a you tube video discussing the Masjed issue and see for yourself how some Americans are so full of hatred to Muslims and Islam. Now, I dnt have a problem what another person thinks about the religion I decided to follow and even hating it or us. What I have a problem with is when that person or a group of like-minded persons starts inflicting this hatred into the society, objecting to building a place for worship, stabbing a Muslim Cab driver, insulting women covering their faces by choice ect. The funny thing I noticed that most comments are based on inaccurate info about Muslims, Islam, content of our religion, history, modern day MENA and even Arab Christians and Jews. This for me means these are brainwashed persons, who didnt seek proper avenues to get info but relied on what they are fed from another source. This source be it a church, a community meeting, Fox news or a politician is spreading hate, and that by itself is a crime. Also, such a person isnt different from Bin Laden, in fact he/she is more dangerous to their societies bec they are not so clear and their effect cant be measured or contained.
I guess the real question is: why do some Europeans and Americans decide to go to war against Muslims and Islam? and please dnt tell me 9/11 bec then we have the right to also react the same way to Western invasions ect to our lands

  11. Ok dear last anon,

Sitting from your internet equipped shisha/coffee shop watching youtube with all due respect is not America! The cab driver was stabbed by a mentally disturbed man as per his psych-evaluation.

America is the greatest experiment on the planet even with all its bruises and warts it is still much safer for a muslim to grow live and prosper here than any other place in the world.

LOL by your standard if I double clicked Zacharya Butros on youtube I should assume that all Egyptian copts hate muslims. Please get off the internet and visit our amazing country and see for yourself!!!

  13. @Ahmed NY: Been there, never said all Americans are like that. Sure youtube isnt all Americans but shows a particular line of thinking. Other than youtube, do check readers comments below any news that has any thing to do with MENA or Islam and read what most comments from Americans tend to say. Also, my friends living in the US right now, are scared for their lives. Sure the stabber is now mentally disturbed, gosh where did I hear that excuse before, oh yes, used by our authorities as well when they try to down play an attack. The guy was drunk and acted while being drunk, the main question remains, whether he was drunk or mentally disturbed, would he have committed this crime if it wasnt for the ongoing instigation? Also, main point here is who is feeding this anti Muslims hatred in the US? Is it for elections? And, what do most Americans know about Islam, Muslims and MENA? I recommend you direct your words to your "fellow" Americans, since most of them know nothing about all these issues and most of them havent been outside of their continent and a good % get their info from TV.
Worship your country as much as you want but as I said before to you, you are incapable of holding a discussion. Your lack of reason always have you resort to personal attacks. Discuss ideas and thoughts and stop assuming that you have figured the World out and stop assuming you know any thing about those behind the screen.
@Jason: Sensitive about our country arent u :D

  14. 'Worship your country as much as you want but as I said before to you, you are incapable of holding a discussion. Your lack of reason always have you resort to personal attacks. '

Not going to dignify the above statement but is is petty!

anyhow just like fox like to emphasize the 'angry arab street' and the mob mentality of the islamists, so does many a news agency in the middle who enjoy parading the Tea Baggers et al. I won't entertain you in such mindless and endless discourse meant to entertain soccer fanatics between world cups!

Now isn't it a bit silly sitting their on your perch to judge 300 million people on the account of a couple of petty youtube statements and sundry internet forum comments? You wisely use the disclaimer of 'not all americans' but you go on to paint a tapestry of hatred and contempt!

It sounds like you need to visit again as you did not open up yourself for the wonderful and friendly people of this great nation!

and please if you keep sticking to your mantra of specific news agencies and website comments I am done with this discourse!

    And TX Jason! :)
