No Korba Festival This Year !!

The famous Korba festival will be cancelled this year , a word that shocked the festival fans in Cairo and has been confirmed in the past 24 hours : No Korba Festival this year.
The festival was to be held in the coming days to celebrate spring and also Heliopolis but it was cancelled due to security reasons as some leak hint to !! Yes security reasons despite the fact it was sponsored by our first lady Suzanne Mubarak and her Heliopolis society.
My only theory I have is that Mubarak will continue staying at the President palace in Cairo and this is why the regime's security does not want any kind of gatherings two blocks away from him , in fact it is even closer.
I bet if we look back in the archives we will find that in the past years he was in Sharm El-Sheikh during the festival.
Despite my views regarding Suzanne Mubarak's organizations yet I believe Korba festival was a good opportunity for Egyptians to celebrate our metropolitan history and its diversity not to mention its festivities were really good.
Anyhow one can understand the fear this regime lives in.
Update :
There is a news that the festival will be held this weekend , of course I still need more confirmation

  1. Why doesn't the president stay in Sharm elsheikh or anywhere else and relax away from the presidential palace and let people have some fun.

  2. I still remember homemade cake shop in Korba and its owner Monsieur Antoine Polly. He was quite a character and his cakes were awsome.
