Did Ruby became the new face of Egypt ?? another new insult for us

 What shall  I say ??

Is this the sort of freedom we want in our country ?? is this the sort of achievement we want to be proud of ??

I don't why I felt so insulted when I saw the new cover of Paris-Match with Ruby standing like a slut behind her the pyramids

Call me old fashioned , call me conservative ,but this is an insult to Egypt's greatest symbol

anyway it is the mistake of Ruby and her director Sherif Sabry who proudly is directing the new promotion campaign of NDP ,it is the mistake of Paris-Match ,which is considering the freedom of the woman in her body not in her mind

Why they put Abir El-Askary on the cover ?? this young woman journalist who was physically abused from few months in the time of judges' crisis ?? This lady won an international award from Canada

I feel so angry and sad

We don't want freedom on Ruby's style ,I guess I made this clear in my Laila's post ,oh dear Laila , the East nor west respect you

  1. You know she may be a symbol of nudity and unacceptable video clips and so, but her look is so Egyptian, with her tan and dark hair, and may be that's why.

  2. Zienab ! i have to say i like your blog because it summariss the current affair in Egypt which i miss so much. However, i find most of your comments despite of being rather analytical and derived from wide information pool extremely hypocrytical, prochial and unjustified.

how come you preach freedom and democracy then you critisise the beautiful rube for being cocky fashionable and charming. Egypt is dying, it has stopped producing anything for decades. Even the Arabs who used t be our obedient followers because of our cultural and civil leadership, are going far ahead of us.compare the average street man of egypt and that of lebanon or quatar.

when it comes to military we can never say no to israel who is now our new colonial force not the us.

when it comes to economy we are at the level of ngeria and begladesh.

ACCORDING TO THE UN HUMAN DEVLOPMENT INDEX EGYPTIAN MAN IS JOKE ....AN IMPOTENT UNADOPTIVE CULTURE. A CORRUPT OUTDATED PHAROANIC SYSTEM, A LIFE WITHOUT DIGNITY WERE PEAPLE DYE IN HOSPITALS BECAUSE OF THE FLU AND THE DOCTORS WHO CANT GIVE A SYRINGE.

    our sports is a joke.

RUBY IS THE SOLE GREAT THING EGYPT HAS PRODUCED IN AGES. A BRAVE BEAUTIFUL LIBERATE, REBELIOUS, CHARMING GIRL WHO HAS GOT THE ABILITY TO CHANGE HER LIFE AND DEVELOP HERSELF, DESPITE OF COMING UP WITHIN AN ENERVATIVE, HYPOCRYTICAL IMPOTENT ENVIRONMENT.

SHE IS THE ONLY EGYPTIAN ARTIST WHO ARE ABL TO COMPETE WITH INVASION OF THE ARAB ARTISTS .

NOW ALL THE MUSIC, CULTURE AND SONGS COME FROM LEBANON, SYRIA ,MOROCO. EGYPTIAN GIRLS JUST CANT COMPETE WTH THE MORE ADVANCED ARAB GIRLS. BUTRUBY BRAUGHT BACK THE HONOUR OF THE EGYPTIANS

BRAVO RUBY YOU SHOULD BE AN EXAMPLE FOR THE YOUNG GENERATIONS IN EGYPT

IF IT WERE UP TO ME I WOULD MAKE HER THE PRESEDINT OF EGYPT

  3. @Tarek, she may have this Egyptian look but also Mona Zaki got an Egyptian look and Hannan Terk before the veil and after it , and they are real stars then her , those editions of Paris-Match ,the cover girls are all real stars like Salama Hayek and Uma thurman , plus do you think the way she stands is the perfect to symbolize the freedom in Egypt or girls in Egypt or Egypt itself !!??

@amr, I don't know how to speak or say , first you insult me in "saddam's fate" and then you are repeating the insult , ya Abyad ,that's my blog I write in it what I love and I think freely and you must respect it ,
now to Ruby thing , a beautiful religous liberated girl !!?? is this liberation you want for girls in Egypt ,for your mother and sisters ,for your wife ?? is liberation means dancing in the middle of a public square wearing a belly dancer suite ?? is this your meaning for religion ,appearing like a slut ?? is this the example for the next generation ??
and how come you hate the arab singers and then you are with the arab nationality ??
man thanks that it is not up to you to make her the president of Egypt ,thank God , the country still got men and really respectable women like Noha El-Ziney

  4. Please Zienab dont put words on my mouth. I didnt insult you, i just critisised your analysis, unles you consider critsism an insult !!!!!!

About Ruby i said rebelious not religous haaaaaa
    ¨

About your blog thing. Yes it is your blog, but i have the right to critisise what you write, otherwise all your preaching about democracy would be junk.

Zienab i dont hate the Arab singers they are more than welcome in Egypt, Egypt is supposed to be the capital of the middle east. Am just angry because i no longer see interesting Egyptian girls

  5. Ok Amr I understand you , but what is your definition exactly for interesting girl ??

  6. Sorry i misexpressed myself, i ment we lack brilliant charismatic Egyptian artists like om kalthoum, nagat..... Most of the famous artists in the Arab world are non Egyptians, like Nawal el zogby, nancy agram, maya nassry, latifa, samira saied...... if it hadnt been for Amr Diab no one would have ever remebered that there are still something called egyptian singers.. the same argument goes for tv journalists ......most of the interesting figures. I mean by intereting, intelligent, cultured and stylish are lebanese ....syrians. algerians like Khadija ben Quana in al jazeera.

right now i live in Sweden

  7. well,guys...I tried not to comment on that post coz i usually refrain from talking about things that I don't understand or have suffecient information about becasue I'm away from egypt for a while...but!

Tarek, can you define "Egyptian Look" for me plz? In my opinion, the blonds of Mansoura, the Blacks of Nubia, the tanned of Upper Egypt and the colors of the rest of Egypt ARE ALL EGYPTIANS! I don't think we can say if there is anyone represents egypt more than the other, so Ruby being the face of Egypt is not the issue here...at least for us...the egyptians!

Amr, naharak abyad first! Man, i've seen many of your comments on this blog and I'm a bit confused! I have no doubts that you are a patriot! But i guess you need to choose the way that you deliver your opinions and thought better than that coz sometimes you'll get yourself misunderstood or accused of misusing the virtual freedom of speech! and remember that choosing the path is as important as the setting the goal my friend! You can still be sarcastic and smart but without hurting people in the process, not that i say you mean it, but its just the way brother...it's just the way! And by the way, Egypt would never die, the people will! It's a process ;)

Zeinab, I became addicted to your blog! I guess i'll have to sue you for that once I visit egypt again! But, my dear, I guess that you were a bit harsh on the Ruby thing. In my understanding about freedom is that it comes in ONE PIECE! We can't accept parts and reject parts, it's take it all or leave it all game! If Ruby chooses to show some skin, she's entitled to her choice and we can't control that! We can only control OUR OWN LIFE not the others, and thats the very meaning of freedom! You'll say that she will help disturb and spoil our young generation, but i will say that the TV has ON and OFF buttons! It's all up to us to make the choices and we cant blame her or her work! You'll say it hurts the image of Egypt, but what image you're talking about? Did she pose naked? Even if she did that..its still her life and her body that she exposed not ours! We spend too much time in Egypt trying to adjust and critisize the "OTHERS" lives while we ignore our very own!

PS: ana nefsy f sandwich foool w showayet ta3mya!

    Cheers!

  9. @amr , well I agree with you that we missed the leadership in singing especially in female singing type ,but it is not excuse , look Ruby came and with her the body seduction language style invaded the Arab world in a disgusting way , ironically she is not the top any more , thanks to Haifa ,one of the reasons of the sex harassment incident of Downtown as some experts said was the spread of these music videos , I believe this is a factor
anyway Ruby's success wasn't because she sings well or her voice is well or her lyrics are great , no because her music video are some how shocking , once dancing with belly dancer suite , once shaking her ass from the start to the end , last one she was dancing with a snake and not wearing her underwear
the names you are mentioned can't be compared to Ruby , Ruby is another result of this terrible era , the level of culture we reached to ,if you understand me
look I am not too conservative ,I adore Shadia's songs ,I love Tahia Karioka and Hend Rostam , soad Hosni and Nadia Lotfy
this is not leadership at all , look I don't mind that Arabs for now only control the Musical or media scene ,we must get rid from this 7000 civilization, a question who is better Majida El-Roumi or Ruby ?? Julia Butors or Ruby ??
in fact becase Egypt is the country of Om Kalthoum I can't accept Ruby as a new face for her ,because we had and we have better than her , but they need to discovered
By the way I how long have you been in Sweden??
because I guess this admiration goes to the fact that you may have got sick from all those blondes around you :)

@yellow Egyptian ,believe me I turn the channel when I see this woman, but I don't know how to say but I don't like this association between her ,Egypt and freedom of girls of women "already I am a honorable member of Kolna Laila and I talked about this issue in Arabic,go for September Archive"
I just feel so angry because Egypt is greater than her , look I can't judge people by appearances , but if we compare between her and Nancy agram , we will find that agram reached to the diva because her manager was wise enough ,didn't make her cheap

  10. @ i live in Göteborg in the south east of Sweden. well, thanks for your advice, it does make sense. Nevertheless am bit confused, as sometimes i think that the egyptians and the Arabs in general need some shock therapy. we need to criticise ourselves, face reality and brink down the totems that are dragging us down......

@ Zienab i have been living in Europe for 3 years , greenland, iceland, copenhagen and Åhus in Denmark and finally Sweden.

About blonds i have never been particularly fond of them, there is beauty in all types.......

  11. your "greatest symbol" is the result of the worst human being in history (firaun) enslaving and torturing the pious followers of Prophet Mousa (Moses). what a shame that egyptians still can't seem to comprehend that they should NOT be proud of the pyramids.

  12. @anonymous,oh boy are going to speak again about this nonsense proved to be wrong logically and historically
please check the wikipedia page about the great symbol of Egypt
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Pyramid_of_Giza
Also from the official Zahi Hawas official website , the truth about the builders of the pyramids
also please your logic , the Pyramids were built in the Old kingdom
Prophet Joseph , his brothers' and their tribes came to Egypt during the middle Kingdom
Prophet Moses was in the modern kingdom
so how come the Jews built it !!?? I am using logic here
